Candida Albicans Cure, Issue #015 -- Candida Diet - Foods to Eat
March 16, 2007

Hello,

In the last two emails I have talked about all of the food you need to avoid while on the Candida diet including: grains, sugar, mushrooms, peanuts, pistachios, yeast, processed foods, hydrogenated oils and artificial sweeteners. In this email I will talk about the foods that you CAN eat.

The first food is one your mother always told you to eat - vegetables! Nearly all vegetables can and should be eaten except for corn. It is a grain as well as a vegetable. You should eat 5 servings of vegetables every day. One thing to aim for is to have 75% of your food raw as many of the natural enzymes are damaged during cooking.

The fruits that are allowed are berries, grapefruits and green apples. They both have antifungal qualities that help diminish the Candida. Other fruits are too high in natural sugars and should be avoided.

The main course of every meal should be plenty of high quality protein. The correct serving size is a piece of meat the size of the palm of your hand.

High quality protein includes all meats that are antibiotic, growth hormone and mercury free. The animals should be raised in their natural environment eating their natural foods. For beef this means grass fed rather than grain fed. For fish this means not being farm raised.

Two of the many sources of high quality protein are Vital Choice seafood and US Wellness Meats. Vital Choice carries all types of seafood from salmon to crab to caviar. US Wellness Meats carry's beef, pork, poultry, goat, lamb, rabbit, and bison.

Another source of protein is protein powder. The powder can be added to juices ans smoothies or sprinkled in soups and stews. Two good sources are Pioneer Nutritional Rice Protein Shake and Potent Proteins from Body Ecology.

Use coconut flour, amaranth flour, quinoa flour and buckwheat flour to make your pastas, breads and other foods requiring flour. These flours are from seeds and do not feed the Candida the way that grains do. Avoid any recipe that calls for yeast though.

A great source of Candida safe pastas is Miracle Noodles. They are made from glucomannan flour which is an excellent source of fiber.

The oil you should use for cooking is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. It is one of the healthiest oils there is and it also contains lauric acid which has been shown to fight Candida. You can use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for salad dressings and anything else that is not heated.

One thing to remember on the Candida diet is to drink plenty of liquids including pure, clean water or green tea. Green tea boosts your immunity and is good for your health in many ways.

There is a simple formula to determine the correct amount of water to drink each day. For non-athletes, take your weight in pounds and divide by 2. This is the number of ounces of water to drink each day. For athletes, the number of ounces of water per day should be equal to your weight in pounds.

Every ounce of liquid you drink per day counts towards your water total with a few exceptions. You do not count any drinks that are caffeinated, any alcoholic drinks or any drinks that are thick or opaque such as milk.

The foods above are the healthy, natural foods that you should eat during the Candida diet and well into the future. They contain all of the nutrients necessary for a long, vibrant, healthy life. Stay tuned for the next issue where I will discuss juicing and eating fermented foods that will really help conquer your Candida albicans infection!

Here's to your health.

P.S. One thing to keep in mind while you are shopping for foods for your Candida diet is to buy natural, wholesome, organic foods. Processed, non-organic foods have many harmful pesticides and food additives that will lower your bodies natural immunity and prolong the Candida overgrowth.
