Candida Albicans Cure, Issue #012 -- Pesticides and Candida
February 16, 2007
Hello,

I always recommend eating organic foods whenever possible. One of the main reasons is to avoid pesticides. There are many reasons for you to avoid pesticides:
  • Pesticides are neurotoxic
  • Pesticides disrupt the endocrine system
  • Pesticides are carcinogenic
  • Pesticides disrupt male reproductive function and
  • Pesticides have been linked to miscarriages.
That should be enough to convince you to avoid pesticides. But if not, another reason is that pesticides are one of the direct causes of Candida albicans. Small doses of pesticides can adversely affect some people. They suppress your immune system and allow the Candida to take over.

Because the toxic effects of pesticides are hazardous, you are wise to minimize your exposure to pesticides whenever possible. If you avoid the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables, you will lower your pesticide exposure by almost 90%.

Washing your fruits and vegetables reduces the pesticide levels but it does not eliminate them. Peeling reduces pesticides as well but the majority of the nutrients are in the peel. The best way to avoid pesticides is to eat organic. The second best option is to avoid the most contaminated fruits and vegetables. The third option is thoroughly clean and peel your fruits and vegetables.

Here is a list of the fruits and vegetables that contain the highest amount of pesticides. Avoid these foods unless you buy them organically.

  1. Peaches
  2. Apples
  3. Sweet Bell Peppers
  4. Celery
  5. Nectarines
  6. Strawberries
  7. Cherries
  8. Pears
  9. Grapes (Imported)
  10. Spinach
  11. Lettuce
  12. Potatoes
The reason that organic food doesn't contain pesticides is that organic farmers use natural insect predators and barriers to get rid of pests. Organic food is also raised in healthier soils so it contains more minerals and nutrients than conventional food.

Many people avoid organic food because of they believe that it is too expensive. However eating organic can be quite affordable if you plan wisely and don't let food go to waste in the refrigerator.

By avoiding this common cause of candida albicans, you greatly improve you chances of success with your Candida albicans cure.

Here's to your health.

P.S. If you have to choose between fresh conventional foods and wilted organic foods, always go for the fresh foods. Wilted fruits and vegetables may have molds growing on them which would exacerbate your Candida overgrowth. You can find more details on my Pesticides page.
